a CA visitor and a road trip

Welcome back. So, a little gap since my last post.  I have lots! of pictures to share and for my own selfish purposes would like this (at least for now) to stay somewhat chronological...so here we go back in time to a 2 1/2 month old Kasen (I can't believe he's nearly 6 months now!!! almost ready for "real" food and getting bigger every day it seems)

Aun-T came up for a visit, nicely funded by her school, and backed up to spring break, so she got to stay for a few extra days.  (And she didn't run away screaming when Kasen spit up DOWN her shirt, within 5 minutes of her arrival!) After presenting her research (which she got great reviews for!) we had some time to hang out, get more than her fill of baby time I'm sure, and some birthday celebration. Here is the picture montage...

A stormy birthday day for Tricia and we weren't sure if our decision to go to the Olympic Sculpture Park was a good one...especially when it was pouring while we were driving there.  Well, the sun came out! It was windy, but sunny, and not many people given that it was midweek and it had just been pouring moments before. (sorry T, I think you have all the group shots, due to your mad self group shooting skills)

And, my longest car ride yet...off to Portland to hang out with both my Johnson aunts!
This is how I look when I'm almost asleep. I like to grab blankets and pull them up over my face (sounds safe), and my eyes roll back. Sometimes I sleep with my eyes partially open, like one of my parents though I won't tell you which one. Scary!

Aunt Bri!

Whatcha lookin at?!

All the sisters in one location = amazing
Kasen was a trooper and enjoyed a birthday dinner for T (Thanks parents) out at sushi and even slept through dessert later!  He had a harder time driving back to Seattle alone with his mom, though we both survived and will even go back for Bri's graduation (well, just did go back...and he did great in the car!)

If you can keep track of my ever wandering sentences, congrats to you! Until next time (hopefully soon so I can get more pictures up here, but now it's time for bed).

The 3rd month...and a trip to CA!

Aching for more pictures? Thought so...well, you'll get your wish and more :-)  Kasen and I went down to California while Erik was skiing with buddies in Colorado (rough life!).  We had a great time hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson (sorry, that makes you sound really old...mostly 'cause I have a Grandma and Grandpa Johnson...), Aunt Tricia and meeting great Grandma and Grandpa Waggoner, along with more extended family!

look at my mad skills!

Why do they always make me hang out on my tummy?

Future Cardinal? (other options based on clothing he owns include Huskies, thankfully NO ducks!)

Hangin' with my grandparents after dinner

 Happy in stripes...
well, not always

Me and grandpa match in our navy stripes (unplanned)

Glorious day on the Capitola beach after tasty brunch in Soquel with family

Another glorious sunny day in Santa Cruz! Wow!

Mad then crashed with grandpa during dinner. Thanks for swaying, bouncing and singing with me!

No big deal, why do you keep taking pictures?

Meeting great grandma Waggoner! (she had fun talking to me...video to come)

 Ready, set, launch

 Beautiful blooming almond orchards.

A new Oakdale house with a view of the river bottom (T, this is my reflective in one window and look through the other window picture)

 More ranch pics

1st time on a rocking horse...didn't scream. (built by great great grandpa Waggoner)

Can't keep his eyes open for pictures...just like his mom.
Fun playing with "cousin" Brittlyn

 Another gorgeous day!

Enough already with the blossom pictures!
I'm NOT going to smile :-)
And I'm spent. All I wanted was an actual walk

Seriously, you are going to try again?!

Orchards...and (not so much in the picture, but) it was so clear you could see Yosemite at the horizon!

On a huge walnut island! Great spot for me to play!

My (Krista) mom's side of the family at a shower/welcome party for Kasen. Thanks Carolyn for the tasty food and great party! (I don't generally like split pea soup, but she made curry split pea soup and it was very tasty. I might even try to make it again)
Kasen's Great Great Aunt Edith and Uncle Bill (and Great Grandma Waggoner in the middle)

A not so nice day, that got nice just so we could go see the sculpture park for T's birthday! Sunny and windy.

Loves to play with blankets and falls asleep easier with them on his face (don't worry, I move them)

Having fun just playing

The sisters, and Kasen. We had a good time, and Kasen slept through Sushi dinner and tasty desserts at Papa Hayden's for T's birthday!

If you made it through this many pictures, congratulations! More to come. and hopefully will post some videos soon.
